Ice age Case Study (poster analysis)

The other film I have chosen to research is Ice Age created by Blue Sky studios. Although it may be in the same theme of animation, there is a clear and present different target audience of a younger generation.

Here are some useful medium from the Ice age trilogy.

This picture is great in revealing its identity and theme of film. The obvious comedic theme, due to its expressions of the CGI (Computer Generated Images ) characters, as well as its soft tone that compliments the rounded cartoon bubble style text of the title, help create an image that although looks quite scary and intimidating, humorous and attractive toward the younger generation.

The white space (negative space) behind the main focus of the image (the characters), as reflected upon in the research in the page layout and design, emphasises the focus of the advertisement making the animals, incredibly isolated and helps from keeping the picture from looking too overcrowded.

The text included in the shot, is the title of the film and the release date, below the names of the main vocal actors staring in the film. The title of the film, especially the sub-title, 'Dawn of the Dinosaurs' itself is almost seen in a comedic way as the image shows a clear stereotype of the dinosaurs, with the reflection that they are dangerous and threatening, which is true, but has a big contrast to the other characters who are seen in a more optimistic light, as individually creates characters, produced by Ice Age's production/Design team.
